Tommy Shaw of the band Styx wrote a song that was recorded in 1980. The name of that song is "Too Much Time On My Hands". Based on today's circumstances, many people feel that way. Boredom, restlessness, and "cabin fever" are setting in and in many cases reaching serious levels. The stay at home and shelter directions we have received have left many people feeling isolated and alone.
What to do, what to do...? Some choose binge watching. Some are catching up on projects that were previously neglected or postponed. Some are using the time to reconnect with friends (electronically). Some, the fortunate ones, are deemed essential, and are still working and providing services.
In all of this, two passages of scripture come to mind. Here they are:
Whatever you do, in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. Colossians 3:17
Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid: for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you. Deuteronomy 31:6
This will eventually pass and when it is all over, God will still be on His throne.
Blessings to you all.
