Just something to ponder

It seems that anything we want these days can be delivered. We can sit at home and get our groceries delivered. Our entertainment can be streamed right into our homes through various methods. All our banking and commerce can be done from the comfort of our couch. If there is something you need or want, there is someone who will deliver it. It sure is convenient. Just keep in mind that "delivery" is not anything new.

When God decided to destroy the earth because of people's evil depravity, He delivered faithful Noah and his family from the flood.

When God heard his people cry out from their bondage in Egypt, He delivered them from the Egyptians.

These same people turned from God and were punished. However, as soon as they returned to Him, they were delivered from that punishment.

God destroyed the evil cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, but delivered faithful Lot and his family from the destruction.

Joseph was sold into slavery, falsely accused, thrown into prison, forgotten and abandoned, but God delivered him and put him in control of all of Egypt.

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego refused to bow to the king's idol and were thrown into a furnace. Because of their faith, God delivered them from the king's destruction.

Daniel prayed to God and was punished by being thrown into a lion's den. Because of his faith, God delivered him from the lions.

When we "people in general" were lost in darkness, God sent his son, Jesus, as the perfect sacrificial lamb to deliver us into the glorious light of His presence.

Look at these examples. Does anything stand out? I hope you picked up on the theme. It is through our faith and obedience that god delivers us from the darkness. He is the greatest delivery man ever. Seeing these examples, doesn't it make sense to live a life of obedience and faith? If we 'll do this, We can experience the delivery god so desperately wants to provide.
