“Then the apostles summoned the multitude of disciples and said, ‘It is not desirable that we should
leave the word of God and serve tables. Therefore, brethren, seek out from among you
seven men of good reputation, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business; but we will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word.’’ Acts 6:2-4

“For we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another.” Romans 12:4,5

Our Beliefs

ABOUT GOD
God is the creator and ruler of the universe. He is eternal and has eternally existed in three persons – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. See Genesis 1:1; Psalm 90:2. There is no source of goodness outside God (Psalms 16:2; 119:68). He is also a jealous God and expects obedience. “But in accordance with your hardness and your impenitent heart you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God, who ‘will render to each one according to his deeds’.” Romans 2:5,6

ABOUT JESUS CHRIST
Before there was a sinner, there was a Savior. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” John 1:1. Knowing the sinful nature of man, God provided a plan of redemption before time began. Jesus lived a sinless human life and then offered himself as the sacrificial lamb that our sins might be forgiven. He was crucified, buried, and resurrected that we might have the hope of eternal life. Acts 1:9-11. See also John 14:19-24; Hebrews 4:14,15; I Corinthians 15:3,4; Romans 1:3-6;

ABOUT THE HOLY SPIRIT
The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son. He lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. “If you love me, keep my commandments and I will pray the Father and He will give you another Helper that He may abide with you forever…for He dwells with you and will be in you…” John 14:15,16 See also John 16:7-13; Acts 1:8, I Cor. 2:12, 3:16; Ephesians 1:13; Galatians 5:25; I Corinthians 2:10; 2 Timothy 1:14.

ABOUT MAN
Man is the supreme object of God’s creation (Genesis 1:27). Although man has tremendous potential for good, he is marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called "sin." Isaiah 59:2. This attitude separates man from God. “…For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Rom 6:23

ABOUT ETERNITY
Man was created to exist forever. He will either exist eternally in union with God through forgiveness and salvation or separated from God by sin. Heaven and hell are places of eternal existence. “He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life.” John 12:25. See also John 3:16, 1 John 5:11-12; Matthew 25:31-46

ABOUT SALVATION
The penalty for sins that have been committed in the past or will be committed has been paid by Jesus Christ on the cross. Man can never make up for his sin by self-improvement or good works. Salvation comes only through our response to God’s offer of grace. Ephesians 2:4-10

ABOUT BAPTISM
Commanded by Jesus in Matthew 28:19, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Those who gladly received His word were baptized.” Acts 2:41 Baptism by immersion is for the remission of sins and symbolizes our death to the old life, rising to walk in a new life with Christ. “Therefore, we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.”

ABOUT THE LORD’S SUPPER
This is a commemoration of Christ’s sacrifice on the cross where he gave his life for the remission of our sins. The bread and fruit of the vine are symbols of Christ’s broken body and shed blood. As He commanded, we commemorate His death, burial, and resurrection on every first day of the week. When he instituted the Lord’s Supper, He told the apostles that he would not partake again until He would drink with them in His Father’s kingdom. (Matt. 26:26-29) See also I Corinthians 11:23-29.

ABOUT GRACE Eph 1:7
“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” Ephesians 2:8 “Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrews 4:16 See also Titus 3:4-6.

ABOUT THE BIBLE
Though penned by Hebrew and Jewish scribes, the Bible was inspired under the supernatural guidance of God. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. (2 Timothy 3:16) Because it is inspired by God, it is truth without any mixture of error. 2 Peter 1:20, 21; 2 Timothy 1:13; Psalm 119:105,160, 12:6; Proverbs 30:5

ABOUT THE CHURCH
“And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.” Ephesians 1:22 Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6 “And God placed all things under His feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him, who fills everything in every way. Eph. 1:22,23 “For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body.” Ephesians 5:24 The Church has no other head according to the Bible.
